Look what I did?

It is VERY late and I have to get up VERY early for a VERY busy day tomorrow. Deadlines creeping up on me. But I had to do this. This publisher can no longer wait for my photo's and I did not want to sent photo's without name or logo. So I downloaded a trial version of Photoshop CS4 and struggled my way and night through it. I tend to explore and find things out myself by trying trying and trying. It was worth it for look at this:

Again, it took quite some hours but I can finally say I took my first steps in Photoshop. I have to add, it wasn't done without the help of some one who has studied Photoshop for many years in college. Thanks to you Gerdien!

NYC Shoot

I was in the States for work from the end of last year till the beginning of this year. I just posted pictures of my time at the Crystal Cathedral. I worked on a program for Dutch television in the States which was actually a series of 4. Here are some of my favorites from our time in NYC.

November last year I was in LA for a mayor TV production. One of our shoots for our program was at the Crystal Cathedral. Of course I had never been there, but had heard of Dr. Schuller. It was quite impressive.

"Sober"

I went to this very cool restaurant last night. It was for a quick dinner with a friend. The place was different from any other place. I quite enjoyed myself and I certainly want to go again. There were all different seating sections, you could sit properly at a table or use the launch chairs (which we choose.) Lots of windows and in the middle of the restaurant they had a long gazebo (of course it's not really a gazebo but it some what looks like one) and than they a a cute little store in the middle of the restaurant where you could buy yummy stuff but it's also where they keep some of their ingredients like cheese, potatoes, onions, spices, tea and so forth. It was the cutest. I hadn't spend time with my friend in a long time so I didn't want to continuously take pictures, but I had to take a few, real quickly. Now at home, looking at them, I keep thinking of all I could have done to take the right picture. Playing more with depth and such. So feel free to let me know what you think, or what I could have done...

Help

I have received an e-mail from a publisher (in Holland) and they are asking me for a certain picture for a book cover. A book cover!!!! How cool is that! But, I am at a loss here. Of course I should ask money, but how much money? Does anyone have an idea???? I haven't figured out how to register my photo's here in Holland, the way you do with music. I don't even know if it works like that. Or sign up for Stock Photo's.

Also, I still don't know how to watermark my photo's. The publisher wants me to send some photo's so he can pick and choose. I don't want to send it without a watermark though. Does anyone out there know how to watermark photo's? I work with a Mac so not all programs apply. Maybe it just means I need to stop contemplating Lightroom versus Aperture and just buy something, perhaps Photoshop, cause I believe that program will allow me to watermark my photo's right?

London

Quite a story. Wednesday night it turned out I had to go to London for work the next day. Plans were made within 20 minutes, it was kind of crazy. So was the schedule, getting up at 3 am (for I had to be at the airport at 5 am) meant not really go to bed at all. Traveling is always exciting but in a way I was disappointed for it meant I would not be around for our National holiday "Queens Day" which is always so much fun. Not yesterday though, it was international news. There was an attack on our Queen by some lunatic. Killing 7, and about 20 still in the hospital of which several in critical condition. You can read about it here, and it's all on Youtube. It was horrible. Though, I was in England and missed it all. I didn't hear about it till a colleague called to inform me. My trip to London was fast, I just spend 3 hours in a meeting and would fly back at 4 pm. Still, I found half an hour to take some pictures and go to Starbucks (we do not have a Starbucks in Holland.)

It's always confusing. I am waiting to cross the street, I look to my right, nothing there so I cross. Then I hear people yelling..... cars coming right at me. The reason they put this on some intersections. Never knew I would really need it.
