Portrait Photography Course

It's time for another course. I loved taking courses for I always learn new things and it's gives me a better eye. For me it's also a way to have something for me, besides my busy work schedule. It always feels like a night out. This time I have the joy to join a friend of mine in the course, she already signed up and we thought it would be fun to do together.

Portrait Photography

Jocelyne Moraeu is an award winning French photographer based in Amsterdam. She'll cover topics as locations, and being creative with present crops, as well as the sphere between the photographer and the model/client. We'll experiment with composition, color contrasts and working with light. At the end of the course we will have come up with our own portrait series with an own chosen theme. We will also look at well known photographers and cover their way of work in our own photo's.

Ottersum

I found this Garden close to me this weekend. It is beautiful! It has great paths, ponds, fountains and lots and lots of flowers. Amazing flowers really. It was a great way to get my Macro out.

They are all SOOC.

Unfortunately during this first visit I found out the place is closing down permanently October first. I went back Sunday for another walk. Why didn't I found out about this before?!

Very Inspiring Blogger Award

Harvest

I did harvest some apples after blogging this afternoon.

Still going Macro.

These are to eat. They'll be hard and sour, just the way I like it.

These are for cooking. I will make apple sauce and maybe an apple pie

The mushroom thing

Tasha, one of the Fledging Photographers agreed with me that it is nice to have feedback to photo's. She found it rather scary to comment on my mushroom photo because it was more than saying "Hey, I like it." She actually had some input, an idea about how the photo might be better. She asked whether she was being to harsh but in now way was she harsh. She made me go back to the photo and look at it longer and more closely. I did get what she was saying, it was very helpful to get her point of view.

I loved the photo this way because it shows the side and it's detail. Tasha was saying that the image was mostly the top of the mushroom and there fore she missed seeing that part in focus.

So here I go again

I did not go back to the woods where this mushroom was. I bet I could find it if I would go back, haha. But I did take the angle Tasha was speaking about. I guess the bottom line for me is that it's really nice and helpful to hear how another person looks at things.

Enjoy my walk with me

I love the fact that I enter the woods right as I walk out of my yard. This morning was a good time to hit the trails for a bit. I only brought my Macro for I still haven't practiced and played a whole lot with it so that's what I set out to do. What I love about Macro is the fact that I get up close and see things that I would normally not pay attention to. So a simple spider is not so simple anymore, it's rather intriguing. A great way to start a walk, finding berries that are ready to be eaten

Purple is one of my favorite colors so I love this. Isn't it amazing we find these colors in nature.

Something little

Nettle, you better not touch it, it causes skin irritation, bumps and an horrible itch. Yet, when touched the right way, no stinging occurs and I love it in my tea and there fore I wanted to admire it with my camera

And this is what I came home to, I have to go apple picking as soon as I am done with this post, they taste so yummy, I love sour apples and I have them right here in my yard.

And this is what I brought home. It jumped off of me when I entered the kitchen. Isn't it bright and beautiful?

Figuring out

I am working on the photo's of my first shoot. OK I have done other shoots, but this one has more of a serious taste to it. And questions arise. How many photo's do you give them? I have taken.... do I dare say..... like hundreds. And do I really need to do this editing part? It's not really my thing. Some look good as they are and of course there are some that do need editing. I am hoping you all can help me out here.

1. How many photo's do you provide on a disc? What's your average? What's your minimum? What's your maximum?

2. Does every photo go out edited? What's your stand on it?

3. Do you limit yourself to how many photo's you take to take control of the post shoot process?

4. How many poses/different settings do you aim for?
