Medicine

These aren't the nature pictures (uhh, I guess in a way they are) or portraits you are used to seeing from me. I am just so excited about this that I have to post pictures. I am struggling with my health and as you may have seen here before, I have Amish friends. These Amish friends are a treasure for many reasons. We write back and forth all year long and then I visit once a year. When we met again in August my friend was quick to hand me a book she knew I had to have. Amish don't use doctor's all that much but have amazing ways of healing themselves. And this book was all about big and small ways of healing our bodies. I tried this very simple remedy with apple cider vinegar that is changing things for me after using it for three weeks. It is pretty amazing. And now I am making a whole other medicine that takes a bit more work.

The book. And me trying to translate the ingredients and convert the measurements in the 'Dutch' grams.

It's not much I need.

The ingredients.

Lots and lots of Vodka. Oh my, it was what made this expensive.

Two different jars. I love it's natural look.

The end product. It does needs to settle for 2 months before it reaches it's full strength. I shake it as much as I can each day.

Welcome to my surroundings 2

'That's my world' encourages people to show their surroundings. It's a challenge that Tasha takes seriously as well. You can go to both places and learn something about the world and places people love!

You Capture - Flowers

A wonderful You Capture, although it was last weeks and I am a little late so no linky for me this time around. But it's just what I love to take photos off, flowers. I have been watching the flowers grow in my yard (and been wanting to take photos) and since it's my first summer in my new house, it is a adventure, even though my yard is tiny, nothing compared to what I used to have. But... that doesn't stop beautiful flowers from growing. I did not invest in my yard at all, I just want to get to know what's there and learn about what I really want to do with my yard. I'd love to create an all purple yard and so far that is what is popping up.

There are lots more Flower entries, like 90+, so go over and get inspired!

Happy Anniversary!

Remember this couple, today is their one year anniversary. I took their wedding photos last year, which I enjoyed doing, but to share a little honesty, it was a little scary it being my first wedding ever. But it was a way to serve them and I love to serve.

Sander and Eveline: I hope you can look back at your first year of being married with great joy and deep love. I pray you have gotten to know and respect one another more and more. Unto the years here after. Happy Anniversary!

I will share a few photos of their day. I took loads and I randomly picked some to share.

The Dress.

And a macro of the dress.

His outfit in detail.

His corsage.

This is how I found the groom when I got to his house, anxiously waiting for the time to pick us his bride.

Dad helping with the outfit.

Groom and brother having a moment.

She's getting ready too.

The bride.

Waiting at the top of the stairs for her groom, she is nervous.

Finally they meet.
(In Holland it is very usual for the groom to pick up his bride at her house, that is where they will see one another for the first time on their wedding day. So no waiting till the isle.)

It got very emotional for the entire family. Look at the joy on her sister's face. I love it.

On our way to the photo shoot location.

Some photos of the shoot.

This was a 'must have' for the groom.

We didn't have much time for the photo shoot, it was really rushing in the end. Bride got tired of dragging her dress, so why not carry the beauty? I LOVE her hair.

Some of the bridals.

Little niece dying to be photographed. It's all about her right?

And then it's off to the town hall, a wedding in church is not recognized in Holland and thus people marry in the town hall first before asking God's blessing. Here are a few moments in the town hall.

Church.

Lots of kisses on a wedding day, but there is nothing like the kiss in church.
