Happy Anniversary!

Remember this couple, today is their one year anniversary. I took their wedding photos last year, which I enjoyed doing, but to share a little honesty, it was a little scary it being my first wedding ever. But it was a way to serve them and I love to serve.

Sander and Eveline: I hope you can look back at your first year of being married with great joy and deep love. I pray you have gotten to know and respect one another more and more. Unto the years here after. Happy Anniversary!

This is how I found the groom when I got to his house, anxiously waiting for the time to pick us his bride.

(In Holland it is very usual for the groom to pick up his bride at her house, that is where they will see one another for the first time on their wedding day. So no waiting till the isle.)

It got very emotional for the entire family. Look at the joy on her sister's face. I love it.

We didn't have much time for the photo shoot, it was really rushing in the end. Bride got tired of dragging her dress, so why not carry the beauty? I LOVE her hair.

And then it's off to the town hall, a wedding in church is not recognized in Holland and thus people marry in the town hall first before asking God's blessing. Here are a few moments in the town hall.

IheartFaces - May Flowers

I love that this week's challenge is not about faces but about flowers. We have had a great summer so far and it isn't even summer yet, very unlike Holland I must say. And it's really too bad that the weather has taken a turn for the worse, just when the challenge is about flowers. I could have gone out to take loads of photos of the tulip fields, but going out in the rain? No way. So I took some photos of fresh cut flowers that I have here in the house instead. I tried shooting some less common angels. One tulip, the rest are peonies.

Past Sunday I went to this Jazz concert that some one was hosting in his yard. It was a beautiful afternoon with great weather, great fellowship and of course the great music. I knew the musicians so I brought my camera so I could give them some photos.

In this post Tasha was doing some reaching, she really needed a challenge to get going with her photos. Just like me. I have been gone for so long and I desire to get back, fully get back. So I gave her a challenge and said I would join in the fun.

She is to take photos of her environment, and I will show mine. And it would be great if these photos really say something about our environment. A flower in a field, that could be anywhere right? So it will take a little effort. It's a little step to get going again...

And since I have moved, I have lots of places to go, lots of things to take photos of.

This past Sunday I was driving home and the sun was setting (not that you noticed so much in sky this night) and I made myself stop and take a few minutes to shoot these two.

Monkey Town

I took my nephews to what I call Monkey Town. It's a place where all sorts of monkeys and gorilla's live. And lots of locations in the park the monkeys walk right where we visitors walk, thus them trying to get into our bags in search of food, or stealing jewelry. A few years ago we were able to feed them but that's no longer happening cause only the dominant monkeys would get fed that way. It was a great day in great weather... here a few of the monkeys we got to watch...

New location

It's about time I share a photo of my new location. It's time I share lots of photos really. But there is just this one.

I moved at the end of February and being in spring season and all it is quite an enjoyment. How blessed I am to have moved and to have moved to such a great home at an unique location. I will make a point to make a series about my new area, I am sure you'll enjoy that. Lots of country side, windmills, tulips and such.
